Anybody Can Play Online Poker, even 21 Year Olds
It’s been proved by a very young Joe Cada that you don’t need to hold a degree to do well at poker. At the age of 21 and a university drop out, many would have said that Joe had a long way to go before earning his first million dollars! He has proved to everybody that it isn’t always necessary to spend time studying at university to win at poker. He is the youngest ever player in the history of the tournament to win. The World Series of Poker reached its peak with him winning with a pre-flop. Unbelievably it was Cada’s first time at the tournament and it is certainly a game that he will never forget. When asked about his final hand play he is quoted as saying that he was too scared to look and turned his back just hoping everything would work out okay
Joe has played poker with his friends since he was a young lad and he has been wishing the years away so that when he was finally 21 he would be able to compete. As the championship is in the USA, the age restriction was set at 21 as the minimum age to compete. The tournament had a lot of entries (6500) and it wasn’t unusual for competitors to sit down and play sessions of upto 12 hours in a single stretch. The entire tournament lasted a staggering ten days.
During Joe’s ten days of play he had quite a ride along the way. The roller coaster that was his play had him with the most chips of any player at the beginning and by the 8th day he was getting so low that he was worried he may have been about to be knocked out. He managed to battle his way back however. His mum is based in Detroit where she is a blackjack dealer, so maybe cards run in the family. As a casino dealer, she was concerned that her son may be heading down a difficult path having seen the ups and downs that poker players go through, but she stood by him all through the tournament and was there to celebrate with him as he took the title.
