Excessive Underarm Sweating And What You Can Do About It

Huge dark sweat patches under your arms is one of the worst things that can happen. When you are out and about during the day or on a night out, sweaty patches under your arm can be very embarrassing. Sweat patches can be extremely excruciating for the sufferer of sweaty armpits. But stress about this situation can actually make the condition worse and so it is a never ending circle. So is there anything you can do about sweaty armpits?

Sweating is a normal bodily function but for some it can be much worse. Sweating is not a problem at all for some people who hardly even notice it. But for others it can be a huge embarrassing problem which makes them feel very self conscious. Bacteria can build up under the armpits as moisture can become trapped in this area and bacteria thrive in moisture laden areas. And the bacteria which can build up here is worse in people with excessive sweating. And once bacteria builds up, you can expect there to be some sort of body odour.

But you can do some things which will help to stop underarm sweating. If you heed some of the following advice you can try to reduce your underarm sweating. Invest in a good quality antiperspirant deodorant and use it every day after you have washed. Washing and drying the area before you apply your deodorant is a very good idea. Try to ensure that the clothes you wear are loose fitting and that they are light in colour. It is well known that sweat patches are more noticeable in darker clothes. And if you can, avoid wearing clothing made from artificial materials such as silk.

Because hair can also trap moisture it is recommended that you shave as much as possible. Watch the foods you are eating too. Some spicy foods such as curries, chillies, garlic and onion can make you sweat more.
